Chemo Two Already Tomorrow

I honestly can’t believe tomorrow is my second Chemotherapy. Its come around so quick. I almost wish it hadn’t, because I feel so good now I don’t want to ruin that. But needs must….

I spent most of the day in my now second home…Burton Hospital. It was my check up with my Oncology Consultant. I also had my weight and bloods taken. This is what always happens the day before my chemo. I was really chuffed with my weight actually, I was 58.2kg today, whereby I was 55.4kg  just over a week ago. I need to put on all the weight I can!!

It was nice that I didn’t have to get a needle stabbed in me to take the bloods, as I now have the Hickman Line inserted all that is made a whole lot easier. The only thing was, as I had only had it put in on Thursday last week it needed cleaning. That really stung, but the worst part was taking the clear sticky plaster off…I’m such a baby…lol.

The plan of action to try and tackle my sickness issue is to have a syringe driver inserted, which was done today. I am now walking round with a very trendy bum bag with it in. (Bring back the 80’s) Hopefully this will work, and I will keep it on for about four days after, probably until Monday.

I am a little scared about tomorrow. I think knowing what to expect makes it all a little more daunting. But, I have Stuart with me and knowing that everyone is behind me will give me the strength that I need!!

I have attached a picture of my Hickman Line just to show what it looks like, I apologise to everyone who is a little squeamish.

xxxxx
